Flavor Profile
Flavorah Amaretto Sour captures the classic cocktail experience with rich almond liqueur sweetness balanced by bright citrus tartness. The aroma presents warm, nutty marzipan notes layered with fresh lemon zest.
Opening notes reveal authentic amaretto character with sweet almond and subtle cherry stone complexity. The body develops tangy citrus brightness that cuts through the richness beautifully. The finish balances sweet and sour in perfect harmony, reminiscent of a well-crafted cocktail.
This is a moderately intense, complex flavor that brings authentic bar-quality character to beverages and desserts. The sophisticated balance makes it ideal for cocktail-inspired applications and adult dessert profiles.
Complementary Flavors
Flavorah Amaretto Sour pairs excellently with other cocktail and dessert flavors. Its balanced sweet-sour profile bridges fruit and nut categories beautifully.
- Flavorah Bourbon: 2:1 for sophisticated whiskey sour variations
- Flavorah Cherry Filling: 3:1 for Italian dessert profiles
- Flavorah Lemon: 4:1 to enhance citrus brightness
- Flavorah Vanilla Custard: 3:1 for creamy almond desserts
- Flavorah Cookie: 2:1 for Italian amaretti cookie profiles
Recipe Concepts
Create an authentic amaretto sour cocktail base or blend with Flavorah Bourbon for whiskey sour variations. For dessert applications, combine with cherry and vanilla for Italian-inspired profiles.
Mixing Notes
The citrus component provides natural brightness, so additional sour accents may not be needed. Works well as both a primary flavor and sophisticated accent in complex blends.
Beverage Applications
For cocktails and mocktails, add 3-5 drops per 100ml for authentic amaretto sour character. The balanced profile works beautifully in shaken drinks. For flavored syrups, use 1-1.5% in simple syrup base for bar applications.
Hard seltzer producers should add 0.2-0.4% post-fermentation. The complex sweet-sour profile creates sophisticated ready-to-drink options.
- Cocktails: 3-5 drops per 100ml
- Bar syrups: 1-1.5% in simple syrup
- Hard seltzer: 0.2-0.4% post-fermentation
- Sparkling water: 2-3 drops per 100ml
Baking Applications
For cakes and cupcakes, add 0.3-0.5% by weight with wet ingredients. Buttercream frosting uses 4-6 drops per cup for sophisticated almond-citrus character.
Confectionery Applications
For hard candy, add 0.25-0.5% at the end of cooking. Creates elegant cocktail-inspired confections with balanced complexity.
Usage Notes
Flavorah concentrates are highly potent. Start with 0.3% and adjust upward. The balanced profile requires less adjustment than single-note flavors.
